Samuel & Emily Loa-Ferreira

We proclaim Him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ. I labor for this, striving with His strength that works powerfully in me. Colossians 1:28-29

Portugal is a beautiful coastal country in Europe that is rich in history, delicious food, warm locals, and steeped in Catholic history and tradition. Although most people have heard of Jesus, very few people would acknowledge him as their Lord and only Savior since the traditions of Catholicism and growing secularism have undermined his relevance. Only 0.4% of the 10 million people in Portugal are Evangelical Christian, and this percentage has been decreasing. But God has been raising up a new generation of young Christian leaders through the ministry of the university bible groups across the country, the Grupo Bíblico Universitário (GBU).

Samuel (a Portuguese national) and Emily (an Australian) both have a passion to see young people transformed by the gospel through university ministry. They are working with the GBU in Coimbra to pastor, teach and train students from the bible. They are also involved in local church ministry.
