Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” - Matthew 9:14
Hundreds of thousands of children live in run-down orphanages in Ukraine, Romania, and other eastern European countries. Tragically, many have been placed in these crowded state-run institutions by their parents, motivated by grinding poverty, alcoholism, or other family problems.
Ideally, New Hope would like to place every one of these children into a loving, Christian home..and we are so grateful for the doors God is opening for us to do just that all over Ukraine. Please pray with us that God will continue to help our teams expand this work.
Meanwhile, we are being given amazing opportunities to spend time with thousands of orphans, offering them love and care in a variety of ways.
Summer Camp: A highlight of the year for many of these orphans is a week-long summer camp experience provided by New Hope. At these camps, these precious children experience God's creation, fresh air, good food, and many opportunities to hear about a personal Savior who wants to offer them hope!
Christian Books: In partnership with literature ministries like David C. Cook Global, New Hope places excellent Christian children's books (translated into local languages) into the hands of orphan children. For many, these are the very first books they will ever own.
Christmas Parties: Together, with the youth from local churches, New Hope organizes programs, sings carols, and plays games with the children living in orphanages. As they hand out fruit and gifts, they proclaim the love of God to each child!
